DNA on rifle, towel, casings, rooftop screwdriver
State: Robinson DNA on trigger, rifle parts, fired casing, two unfired cartridges, towel, and a screwdriver from the roof. Towel also has Twiggs DNA. Defense attacked methods, mixtures, and roommate comparison timing.
FBI analyst Amanda Bakker testified. After Twiggs’ comparison sample, she attributed the towel mixture to two people. SBI Sgt. Jennifer Faumuina: one was Twiggs, the other very likely Robinson. CNN: Bakker also reported “very strong support” that DNA on the towel and a rooftop screwdriver originated from Robinson and Twiggs. ATF DNA chief Caitlin Oliver: rifle samples were at least 1 trillion times more likely to include Robinson than not (lab ceiling). “Very likely” is not a lay synonym for unique identity. The statistic belongs in the native report. DNA on a family rifle can be innocent possession. DNA on a rooftop screwdriver, if real, is harder. Need the lab packets.
