Lance Twiggs
Robinson's roommate and romantic partner. State's main cooperating witness. Not charged as a co-conspirator. DNA reported on the towel wrapped around the recovered rifle.
Charging documents describe a text thread the night of the shooting in which the roommate is “aghast,” is told to look under a keyboard for a note, and is asked to delete messages. Governor Spencer Cox said the roommate was cooperative and turned over incriminating messages. Twiggs was under FBI protection until 15 Jan 2026. He did not testify live at the July 2026 prelim; prosecutors used a recorded 20 Apr 2026 interview by Ryan McBride, with use immunity. He told McBride they started as St. George roommates in 2023, began dating a few months later, and that about a month before the shooting Robinson asked for a Dremel to engrave bullets. On 11 Sep, Twiggs said, Robinson was restless, cried, and said he wished he had not done it. Twiggs’ attorney told CNN his client has cooperated consistently.
Owens has claimed Twiggs was not questioned by police. Hearing evidence included video of him being questioned. That Owens claim is contradicted on that point.
DNA on the towel was attributed to two people: Twiggs and, per analysts, very likely Robinson. Defense questioned mixture interpretation.
